Coloured GND Filter?

I know that is an oxymoron using the words "coloured" and "neutral density" to describe the same item but, you know what I mean! These are the filters which the darker portion has a coloured effect such as blue or tobacco!

Normally, I dont like this type of effect but, I am traveling to China this Spring and the smog and polution often make the skys a very yellow colour. I am wondering if a "blue coloured" GND filter would counteract the ugly skies to some degree or would the results look phoney and terrible?

You might already know this but.. Adobe lightroom had simulated colored and non colored GND filter settings in it..very cool...

Hard to know.

Personally, I'd probably just try to adress any issues like this in post-processing.

Ditto, although I'm not sure how successful you'll be.

I think Yan posted some of his shots of polluted atmospherics a few weeks ago.
Might be able to practice on one.

Thank you for your assistance. I will attempt post processing rather than use a filter. That way. I won't ruin the RAW images as I shoot them.

Aside from the possibility of a sand storm; I wonder what kind of air quality I could expect in Beijing during the first week in April?

Well, I found this interesting and reviewed some of my China pictures from 2006....

Some seem to have a haze, more grey than blue.......

I did a simple Haze Reduction (Auto WB plus High Radius USM.....which gave me excellent color and then a nice B&W conversion.....
