    Great documentary about an iconic photograph

    A documentary about a photograph will be shown next month at the Toronto Film Festival - it's all about the history and context of this one image:

    Great documentary about an iconic photograph

    See here for more information on the documentary; there's a link to the trailer, which is worth watching: http://www.petapixel.com/2012/08/23/...-taken-in-nyc/

    I get Vertigo just looking at this. Workplace safety has thankfully come along way.

    Don't the guys on the far left of the image know that smoking is dangerous?

    Does anyone know a way to get a copy of the TIFF video on Vivian Maier to show to my photo class?
    I'm also open to any suggestions for interesting video's to inspire my classes - one b&w beginner class and one intro to digital imaging.
    thank you for any help and suggestions!

    Sue;

    Here is something I found online with links to a number of photography related videos available via You Tube ( I think that a couple of the links were broken but I found the videos with a quick search of the title). I have watched a the ones covering Stieglitz, Cartier-Bresson and Gordon Parks and they are really great although a bit long for a class presentation I would think - maybe some homework

    Have a guess :)

    I'd be interested to know how posed it was ... when I couldn't open the link in the first post I Googled the filename, and it returned several images of the same beam and same view, but different "poses" (one with 11 men eating lunch, another with several "resting").

    As sufferer of height vertigo, I always get bewildered as I see this picture. As a real icon of the nineteenthirties, I see this picture in every photographic history book and it stays amazing.
