Very nice face, very kind eyes, and holding your heart in her hands. Perfect exposure and tonal range notwithstanding. Hard not to smile right back at that shot.
How did you light that? It's superb.
Have to agree with the last two posts. Wonderful, kind smiling face!
Cheers for now
Gary
Thanks Donald,
Lighting was difficult for this series, although this was an easier one since I wasn't shooting into the light like some of the others.
I had 3x 600EX-RT's firing into a Lightware 30" softbox (on tripod) triggered by an ST-E3-RT. For later shots in the series where I was shooting into the light I added a 4th hand-help 600EX-RT for a bit of fill to reduce the contrast around the sides and back (essentially having to work 3 zones of light). All of this in a bitterly cold wind that had her frozen to the bone even with my industrial-strength down jacket (something I need to keep in mind about light-weight models) (should have brought a hot-water bottle with me -- seriously).
Thanks Gary,
I realised as soon as I met her less than a couple of months ago that there was something very special about Dani -- not just wonderful looks, but a truly wonderful personality and heart -- and that's what comes through in all her photos. I'm very lucky to be being working with her closely in the months and years to come.
Lovely in the B&W!!! I know I sound like a broken record --I'd love to see them cropped closer around her face!
The lighting is phenomenal, I love the portraits.
Collin, They are lovely pictures, I do like the environment and the B&W. The first one, tho. I don't know, it's her expression as she is looking at you. It really is the part of the photo that really appeals to me. . . .JMHO.
