It would be good to get your welcome message written and posted up. Your site is out there now and if anyone comes across it, there's nothing saying hello, or who you are , or what the site is about.
I also see that all your images are under one heading 'Seascapes, even though a lot of them are not seascapes. I think it would be worth trying to get some time to start arranging your work into appropriate galleries, as anyone finding the site and going into the existing gallery expecting to see only seascapes is going to wonder, "What's going on here?".
It does require ongoing commitment to keep a site current and relevant, but it is time well spent if you want people to re-visit your work.
Re: Members - Point us to your website here!
Hi all,
Registered on the site yesterday. My website can be found by clicking here.
The site runs two blogs. The first and most established is my following of Navy Rugby with my camera. Having spent nearly twenty six years involved with Navy Rugby this aspect is very much a passion. My new life is based on the Sleat Peninsular on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. The Mhor Skye Musings attempts to capture some of the beauty and wonder that is around me everyday along with journalling some of my travels with my camera. Long term I hope to promote more people to visit Sleat and see that Skye is more than just some of the more famous mountains like the Cuillin and Quinraig.
The rest of the site is my portfolio. The action photography has large number of images in the galleries so that the participants can see the work. The landscapes and wildlife images are more critically chosen although I do like to use 'discards ' in my blogs as for me as long as a photograph / image promotes an emotion or a reaction then it has something worthwhile about it.
Best wishes
Geraint

Super site, Geraint (I hope you also saw my welcome to you in the New Member thread). Thank you for sharing it.
There are often questions posed on here by people wanting to photograph sports, particularly team sports in which children or other family members are featuring.
I hope you will feel able to share your very obvious knowledge and skills to help them learn. Now that your on Skye, you need to start specialising in shinty. That was my sport.

Hello, this is a link to my website. It is a photo blog for now dealing with pictures and the story behind them. Stories from the stars, skies , sea and land. Some stem from adventures from the Adirondack park in NewYork. We are kind of free lance reporters with pictures.
Thank you,
Frank

Hi
My name is Colin, and I live in Naples Florida. I must share some real advice. On a shoot recently I was using flash with a power-pack attached. Distracted to look at something, I put the camera down and walked away with the power-pack still in my pocket. You guessed it - I brought the whole lot crashing to the floor. The UV filter took all the impact and saved the lens and the body. The filter of course was smashed and so was the off-camera shoe cord. Without that filter it would have been good-bye EF 50 mm f/1.2 and perhaps the body lens mount. Best advise ever? Always use a (good quality) UF filter.
