24 Hours of Dubai pt I
Every January there is a 24 Hour Endurance Race held at the Dubai Autodrome. I've visited a few times, but managed to get a pass to get closer to the action this year. A friend of mine went the whole 24 hours non stop, intent on posting to his blog on the hour every hour (nutter!), but I dipped in an out, getting a few hours sleep away from the track before returning.
I wanted to shoot not just the cars (which can get a bit monotonous after a few hours) but also the pit action, drivers before and after their shifts on track, and get a documentary style set of images from practice on the day before the race, through the start, night and finish the following afternoon. I processed everything in colour first and then to black and white with my usual workflow. Personally I prefer the black and white in keeping with the documentary theme. Cars are beautifully clean at the start of the race and during practice, but the dirt and grime quickly build up over the 24 hours.
This will be a long thread so prepare for a lot of scrolling if you're interested! If not, look away now!

Re: 24 Hours of Dubai pt I
Hi Phil, have had a look at part 1 and part 2 of this series. Very impressed with the composition and the clarity of the images. I like the B&W theme you have chosen.
Great job.
Ps, very jealous, spotted many cars That I think should be in my garage.
