Hi Bobo, I think both of these look great and though additional PP might provide a 'different' look, you would be getting down to personal preferences at this point.

I like the natural look of both so I don't feel you need any additional separation of subject to background. Compositionally, both are perfectly acceptable.

My feeling is that although they could be changed, you need to ask yourself if YOU are happy with the images. If so, great! If not, play with them a bit to get a different look.

Both look ok to me on the monitor and at large size. The only small niggle maybe that background may need a bit of darkening to make the bird stand out a bit more. In #2 the reverse, that the bird needs to be darkened somewhat.

But I have a funny habit of always seeing the wrong thing so have lately tended to leave things as shot.

A good case of right place, right time - and the right camera settings

I think these are fine as they are and I'd probably have arrived at the same place in terms of PP - personally I can't see anything worth improving.

In #2 the bird is perhaps a tad bright but not worth changing.
