    Hummingbird on a Stick

    I don't yet have the right setup for hummingbirds in flight, so I settle for these little guys who pose for portraits:

    Looking at these, I think I could use a touch of NR in the backgrou

    That and a tighter crop , if you can afford the loss in resolution. Nice job sean.

    Agreed completely, but that's about as tight as I can go. Funny, 560mm at about 35' still isn't enough!

    And if you had 1,000 mm, Sean, you would want 1,500 mm.

    Good sharp focus.

    With regard to the background. I find that running over noise problem areas with a little bit of Blur Brush does help. Vary opacity and brush size to suit.

    I think I might also try to tone down a few of the brighter background spots with an adjustment layer plus an edited mask to selectively apply the effect.
