Marlow Bridge on a September Afternoon

After a dreadful summer we have some real sunshine at last. I have photographed this well known scene many times, each image being slightly different. Often the background sky has an orange tinge to it, resulting from pollution created by fumes from London in general and London (Heathrow) Airport in particular. This image is one of the few that is pollution free.

Thanks Donald. This situation has not arisen before, maybe I will upload another image to see if the problem specific to the original.

Maybe a few more details about your uploading procedure might help, Chris.

At one time, I was getting softness creeping into many images when linked from other sites, but that seems OK now.

The Tinypics uploads usually work for me. I normally work with 80% Jpeg at 1000 pixels max on the long side. I think excessively large photos do get auto resized which can cause problems.

I have certainly had colour changes when converting to Jpeg previously.

How does the image, at upload sizes, look on your monitor?

Kinda hard to diagnose the malady when the doctor isn't allowed to even see the patient

I'll have to ask questions instead:

Was it uploaded in the sRGB colour space?

What browser are you viewing it with;
Internet Explorer?
Chrome?
FireFox?
etc.

I have re-posted the image at the start of this tread, which has dramatically changed colour from the original, which I have posted on my website at: -

This is now seriously weird because I posted the image again this morning, which appeared with the distorted colour. However it now has suddenly appeared with the correct colours. Sorry to have wasted your time

I have just looked at the original post on my I-pad, which is still showing the distorted colours, whereas my PC shows the correct colours, so I have no idea what others are seeing. Well nothing I can do about that so onwards and upwards!

Chris looked at both of your images one here the other on your zenfolio site, as a former colour matcher in the print industry they are both the same, yes they look slightly different but are the same colours. Difference appeares to be in the CIC sites that the image is lighter this would suggest a possible brighting, The zen site on the other hand is a bit darker. Now which site shows your image more to your own view screen, remember if you were to put that image on 27 different screens you could get 54 different looks, why 54 if you view just after turning on the system the screen has not warmed up so the image you first see at start up will look different if viewed an hour later. One last thing all your screens have been coloured corrected, after having been warmed up the correct amount of time?

You have got wonderful clarity in that. Don't know if you put any Local Contrast Enhancement into it, but it certainly 'pops'. Lovely image.
