any idea what it is?
ok thats the question, what is it? its not a competition i really dont know what it is.
we found it while out walking, it looks like those helium kids ballons the way it was all puffed up, it was quite horrid really,lol

Hi Mark,
IMO you have a very nice picture of a "Bloody-nosed beetle larva (Timarcha tenebricosa)".
Adult Bloody-nosed beetles are flightless and can be seen walking along the ground or on low vegetation.
If I'm correct and I'm sure other will confirm or correct my guess, they should turn into the folowing:

ha ha yea it looked alien to me as well,.. john, thank you so much, been trying for ages to find out what it was and never found it.
