Re: A few from chilly Zurich
No2 is lovely phil, has a great sence of calm and a good depth to it, tell me, do you actually shoot in b.w or convert?

Re: A few from chilly Zurich
Thanks Mark - I always convert form a colour RAW file. Far more data available than in camera b&w

Cool, thank you, its nice to see someone shooting primarily in b+w, dont know how but sometimes it just seems to convey more feeling than colour, i have looked at a lot of yours and they always seem to have a good depth in the contrast, thanks for sharing them.

I really like them all. Tough to pick a favourite.
I think your B&W processing is fantastic. Care to elaborate a bit on your workflow?

Really beautiful, IMHO! I love the snow in B&W.

Very enjoyable set Phil. Images 2 and 3 in particular have excellent composition and processing IMO.

Re: A few from chilly Zurich
Thanks Mark. I'm always shooting in colour and converting, so I've got colour and black and white versions of everything. Not everything works in B&W though, but on this forum I'm posting mainly in black and white.

Re: A few from chilly Zurich
Thanks Gretchen - snow's a challenge to expose for if you're not used to it, which I'm definitely not!

Re: A few from chilly Zurich
Thanks Tommy. I've got a little bit covered on my blog on my website, which needs some more processing details when I have time.

Re: A few from chilly Zurich
Thanks Dave
It was particularly cold and crisp for #2, which I think comes through in the processing. My brother-in-law and his wife and daughter live in Zurich and I've got more into street photography and candids since my last visit so I'll be looking at the place and people with fresh eyes next time I visit.
