The most beautiful sound in the world

Today I was very lucky to be involved in taking my grand daughter to the park for a frolic in the sun. I captured this shot while she was playing.

It is a pity that I could not remove the hint of a sleeve of the supervising adult, never the less, I can hear the squeals of delight when I look at the shot.

Children at play and laughing are so therapeutic sometimes to those of us that sometimes get so bogged down in life that we forget to have fun.

The adult's clothing is not a problem at all, as the color complements the other blue tones in the image. If you changed the color to make that happen, great. If not, that's your good luck that you didn't have to make the change.

Notice also that you can see the finger tip of the adult appearing just beneath the child's left hand. Two of the adult's fingers are also seen holding the child's torso. All of that seems quite natural considering that we expect an adult to be providing safety for a child this age at the top of a slide.

My only complaint is that I had to turn down the volume of the computer so the child's squeals of delight wouldn't disrupt my wife.

Following on, here are a few more shots that captured my heart. I think that perhaps the swing photograph is a little over exposed but was unsure how to fix this. The last picture was bub at 14 months running away from her mum and peeking at her through the play equipment to see if she was in trouble. See even at 14 months old they work us adults out!

hehehehe Mike you made me giggle.

I didn't change the colour at all (probably as I dont know how to yet). I have made copies of theses so I can fiddle with the settings to see if I can fix some of the pale face issues, after I read up how to do it.

So Im also assuming by your comments that hands and parts of other people are ok in shots if it is natural that they should be there?

Absolutely. I think they probably need to be either a minimal part of the image or such a significant part that they convey the relationship between the adult and the child. All of the above images work for me for that reason.

its easy Mike, I squat down and bend ever so slightly to one side or the other, then I cock my head just a little bit more. More than likely my physio will love this as it wont be considered an ergonomic position to be in

That is indeed a beautiful image. There are probably technical 'bits' that could be debated, but sometimes they come in a very poor second to the capture of a moment, of a mood. The sheer exuberance and joy oozes out of that image ..... and you can't teach anyone how to capture that, you've just got to feel it.

I like the last one because the face is cropped close. The bright colors of the park are great, but I'd still rather see the faces.

Other than that I can only agree with MacKenzie.

I agree Gretchen. Most of my photos are close ups when I can. I just adore the details, expressions and emotions a close up can portray.
