Hi Susan,
Looks good to me
Only things I did notice was (soft image as it is), possibly it's a little too soft (needing a slight sharpen?), and possibly a touch of (digital) Fill Light?
Thanks for responding!
BTW - i tired and tired to enlarge the photo on my own by following the directions posted.... and just could not get it to work
its nice i liek it
Susan
Like Colin, I would go for an ever-so-slight sharpen, but would confine it to the child - face in particular. The idea and overall effect are brilliant. The colours really work for an image such as this.
Susan - I like this image although I'm not so bothered about sharpening. How have you made this? Did you blend two layers via Multiply or Overlay and how did you blur the upper layer - Gaussian or Out-of-Focus? I'm interested in how different photographers carry out this technique, because there are subtle differences from different methods.
Cheers
David
There are tutorials on it on the web. Try this one http://digital-photography-school.co...s-in-photoshop
I have a set of Photoshop Actions that includes an automated Orton if you are interested? It also includes a Velvia filter to boost colours, and a High-Pass sharpener. You need a version of Photoshop that uses Actions though.
Antonio, and others, try this... Robs Photoshop Actions
I tried to PM you but it's switched off in your account.
Orton Effect tutorial
This is the tutorial I used to the T. I think my pixel was set at about 25 in the blur.
The effect is supposed to create a very painterly, dreamy, ethereal effect...which I felt this image was perfect for.
Thanks for all of the comments and I love the idea of making an action for it!
