Can I make it as a photographer for car advertisements?

During my vacation in Iceland last week, I enjoyed "Waterfall Alley" in Seyoisfjorour. Upon returning from my walk, I realized that I could quickly position my 4-wheel drive rental car as might be done in an advertisement. Positioning the car and capturing the image took all of five minutes for a bit of fun.

By the way, the answer to the title of this thread is a resounding "No."

I think the photographic knowledge and skill is there. What's in doubt is the commitment to keeping the car clean for the shoot - unless that's designer mud along the sill below the door!

Where are the scantily clad young women draped over the bonnet?

Nobody has mentioned that perhaps I should have at least tried using a polarizer to deal with glare and reflections on the car. Shame on you folks!

Geoff, when you mentioned the scantily clad young women, I'm sure you didn't realize that I was traveling with my wife.

LOL... An image for a car advertisement either needs a spiffy clean car or a four wheeler that is absolutely caked in mud!

In reality, IMO, the car is not prominent enough in the image.

If the dozens of car calendars that I give away to customers every year are a worthwhile indication, you're absolutely right.

Mike, if you crop the photo and take out the car and some of the area to the left you will have a beautiful photo.

    Cheers, chuck

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Can't wait to learn whether that acronym is allowed around here.) Edit: Apparently it is.

Edit #2: I'm ashamed to admit that I actually tried it.

From one of the old folk.

Why do we need over 1000 (the site says so) acronyms and slang terms? Why can't people just write in standard English?

Now if it was related to my profession (in the child care and protection world), then I could understand if we were discussing whether after a CCPC at which we decided to go with CPR, we should now be considering a CPO.

Don't we all just love our acronyms and jargon! God, I must be getting old!

Considering that I'm an American, I hope you'll give me a little slack on that point. Americans speak American, which is a distorted form of English.

Just to make life a little bit easy on everyone...

ROTFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my arse off. (There you go, Donald. I believe that's how the English would say it.)

Now, as to how the Scots would say it ..................... No, better not.

It's always interested me how American English and British English have diverged; e.g. color/colour etc
