    Little boy portrait

    Hello another photo from Soroor
I just like to know how is my crop and edit.

I tried to use 1/3 rule, place most elements of his face in left two of the third.
I soften his face using overlay blurred layer and sharpen his eyelash, eyebrow, lips and hair masking that layer.
I add some contrast using adjustment level layer.

    Here what I've done:

    Little boy portrait

    This the original:

PS. I thought left side is useless and his head and hair cover so much space on top!

Dose it work? Are composition and edit proper?

    Thanks all

Oh my! This b&w is totally surreal. You have done a marvelous job, in my humble opinion. The glow that surrounds the face gives an angelic feel to a beautiful innocence.

    Extreme congratulations my friend

I like the B&W treatment a lot. I disagree that it's surreal; just the opposite, it looks very natural to me.

Consider softening the hair a bit, as it seems sharper than most of the rest of the image and a bit of a distraction.

Im sorry Mike, my use of the word surreal was to highlight the angelic quality, not to imply that it is anything else. In my minds eye I can almost see wings out the side

Thanks for your warm reply Soozie.
I agree with you Mike, I tried to keep it natural and soften his face to make it more innocent...

    Hi Meisam,

It works. But for me the original has more impact. Take plenty pictures of him!

    Hi Meisam

I think you did a good work. I'm no expert but I have a couple of suggestions.

    1. I agree with Mike. The hair looks a bit overdone to me. A little softer appearance would work better.

    2. The bright background gives a nice mood to the image, but I'm not sure if I totally like that his right cheek (left on the image) is blown out. Try to reduce the lightness in that area.

Overall is a nice picture. Is that your son?

    Hi Toņo
No, This is not my son, I even don't know him, This photo is done by a friend on mine (Soroor)
She is learning and I start to learn a little earlier so I try to help her learn faster.

This is only some tips for her and I just cropped and edited this photo. Same as last post of mine "A Boy and A Caw"

Regards and thanks for your suggestions
