In the UK there's a franchised organisation named 'Barking Mad'. They find 'foster homes' for dogs whose owners are going on holiday/vacation, etc. And we are a 'host' family, meaning we care for different dogs for maybe a weekend or up to 2 or 3 weeks at a time.

This is 'Flute' who arrived yesterday for 3 days.

I like the way the lighting catches Flutes nose, he looks as though he is is listening for a familiar noise like his owners car.
The Barking Mad organisation is a great idea, it must give peace of mind to a lot of dog owners.

Hi Donald - As I recall, you're a GIMP user. If you haven't got it already, there is a download called "refocus". This might be useful for sharpening up this particular image, if you wanted too. Otherwise, it's a great atmospheric shot. Sell it to the owners!!!

Horrendous. It wasn't that particulary heavy during the past week, but constant. Water is pouring off the hill behind our house and the road is a like a river. But not as bad as further north east, where there has been major flooding.

Actually managed to install it successfully. Things are looking up! Now all I've got to do is learn how to use it. Thank you for directing me towards it.

Hi Donald - Some hints regarding Refocus. It opens in a small window. Expand this by dragging a corner out with your mouse. You can then see your image on the LHS. The image can be made larger or smaller.

Key Parameters: Matrix size 5 by default, but 25 is probably the best, however, this is slow.

Correlation 0.5 by default, but 0.9 to 0.99 best.

Noise 0.01 by default but 0.05 is useful.

Radius 1.00 by default, raise if image is very blurred.

Gauss 0.00 by default, leave this alone, otherwise...

Note the preview option. Note also that if you do use a large matrix, final processing will take some time.

A wonderful story telling image! love the lighting you used. Agree on sharpness issue... would love to see what gimp does for it! ( i have many, many images that would benefit from a spin with that option!)
