Re: Doing their thing
Bobo, nice set. I especially like the second one. Am interested in the form of mutilation you choose for the fourth one. I like the composition of the fifth image. Do you have a color version. Cheers, chuck

Re: Doing their thing
Thanks Chuck.
About 4 and 5 - sorry about both, I was just playing around with various sliders and layers and settled on these but did not keep the original properly processed ones. Will try to redo from memory and let you know later.

Re: Doing their thing
Nice shots, Bobo. I especially like #2 for the clarity, clear eye and the calm water and lighting.

Re: Doing their thing
Thanks Serge, Terry.
The thing about ducks, geese, gulls and swans is that they are easy to find. The other is that they are great subject to practise on. Refine technique, angles, perspectives. The backgrounds and water also help with composition, what effects one wants in-camera, what light effects you want, etc. Ducks are also great flight subjects as they fly much faster then lots of other birds so BIF practise too.
Overall if one is just starting out or needs to re-shape skills - these are the subjects to go to.
My camera does only 4 shots burst mode which forces me into either one shot or very short bursts but there is a lag between shots. So you either get it right or have to find another chance to get what you want. Good way to help predict what will happen next and be prepared. Will be sticking to this one until such time as I feel confident enough to get good shots on a consistent basis. Only then will there be a faster/better camera in the bag.
