OK, I confess: I spent awhile trying to guess the subject before opening the thread to see the image. My first guess was an egg. My second guess was a self-portrait.
I like this a lot. Just out of curiosity, what was originally stored in the bottles?
Egg? Way to obvious!
Self portrait...cheeky AND predictable...double whammey!
The bottles were in the stairwell of the house in Mull Mike..I love that old frosted glass look and when I took the shot I was thinking'shame about that crack' then realised it was the crack that made the shot.
You can see the name 'Schweppes' on the standing bottle. I have fond memories of their Ginger beer which came in proper bottles and which my Dad would bring home with a 'Fish Supper' as a special treat when I was small.
A treat that was experienced in thousands of working class houses in Scotland in the 60's and 70's.

Sharon, a moving story for a moving image.
Serge
Thank you Donald and Serge.
Big fan of Schweppes especially the Cream Soda and of course the Ginger Beer. Still available in various parts of the world.
Half part cream soda + half part fresh milk == SUPER DRINK....
Oh, supposed to talk about pics not drinks ----- good one as usual.
Great picture, love the textures.
Limeade or Irn Bru with our fish suppers!!
Thanks Kenny!
I thought it might be a picture of me, then I remember I haven't posted any here, so you'd have nothing to work with --
I like this composition a lot. I'm a bit confused by the shadows tho. It seems very dark at the bottom and the angle of the far right bottle seems at a different angle than the middle one --which is probably fine. But it seems like shadows should be darker? And the bottle that is standing-up should have it's shadow cast over the middle bottle that is on it's side --no?
Or am I interpreting this all wrong?
I love the texture and "aged-ness" you've created here. Thanks for posting!
Just beautiful, as always.
Aaand....the only Schweppes I ever knew was Tonic Water. Must be a lack in my culture!
That is a beautiful image.
Karm
Thanks karm,Gretchen and Kris
Gretchen, the little scene was lit from a window behind the stairwell and I moved nothing around so the shadows and shapes are all as they were.
