A Boy and a Dog

This series shows my grandson playing with our dog. Can't beat the combination of a boy and a dog - in my opinion. Look at the eyes of the dog in the last image. Click on the photo to enlarge. Hope this brings back some memories for some of the viewers.

These are very nice shots. I could tell it was the middle of the day (short shadows) where you could have had high highlights but you over came this. nicely done. Was it done on camera or post?

Really nice shots! I always had a dog when I was a little boy and my toys cost less. He'll have some great memories when he gets older and looks back.

I get a wonderful feeling from these images. A boy (or a girl) and a dog are certainly a heart warming combination.

IMO, I really feel sorry for a child who has never had the opportunity to experience the unqualified love of a dog...

Yea that third one is really great, the dogs eyes are almost out of his head. Sometimes you just have to get the photo when you can and try to work it out in capture and PP. Thanks for sharing the moment.

Richard and Carl, thanks for looking and for your comments. I grew up on a farm where there weren't very many children nearby. My dog was my best friend for a long time. In fact I used to tell him secrets and I am sure he never violated my trust.

Just glad I could capture a memory.

Chuck, as others have written, these are great captures of your grandson and your lovely pet enjoying playing together. The lighting is undoubtedly harsh from that time of day but, working on the original images from the D7000, it should be possible to reduce the glare and bring out more of the details, such as that in the dog's fur. E.g. A rough edit of the screen image:
