Hugs of Friendship! C&C always welcome
I've been super busy. I hate when real life interferes with my hobbies! Hopefully, real life will abate a bit in a week or so and I'll be able to contribute more. Anyway, I thought I'd share this one picture I took. It just makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile too!

Nice picture of the dog But would love to see the face of the person to make a connection with both the dog and person.

Warrick, I won't post the full face of a child. Internet privacy and security issues. Plus, in this one she was purposely burying her face in his fluff. Which is something I loved. Kids have no inhibitions about such things.

It's good to see you posting Gretchen, hope you get the chance to join us more frequently.
Not sure this is one of my favourites of yours although I can see why it makes you smile as it is a lovely scene.
I am getting greens and purples from the black of the dog fur and am not sure about the background..in particular that little patch of green on the bottom left. Did you clone the natural background out.
It is however a lovely subject and I hope you return to it.

Re: Hugs of Friendship! C&C always welcome
Emotionally, I love this image. I don't need to see the face of the human to realize the love between human and dog. I have buried my face in my dogs' coats on frequent occasions.
Technically, the image seems to be over sharpened or else has some other kind of artifacts floating about. These are especially noticable in the female subject's right hand and around the dog's muzzle.
However, I first look at an image for emotional impact and only then for technical merit. I'd rather see a less technically perfect image with a lot of emotion, than the other way around.

Thanks everyone! I've had a few minutes to play with it and I think there is a lot of reflection from parts I cropped-out. I can't get the color right at all. So, here are a couple alternatives. Do they work, are they still producing the emotional impact?
1-B&W
2-Cutout filter
