Don, I find this to be a very interesting shot. It's almost as if the tree is trying to pull itself up out of the ground. Very appealing perspective.

Very nice image...
I stopped by Kodachrome Basin State Park once when I was visiting Bryce Canyon. The Stae of Utah manages a wonderful RV park in the State Park there and I would enjoy to staying there for a couple of days. I would really love to shoot Kodachrome Basin in the early morning and the evening when the light is coming in at an angle and the colors are realy emphasized. However, I visited Kodachrome Basin in the mid-afternoon and the light was not all that great.
Unfortunately KBSP is a long way from anywhere and in order to shoot it at first or last light, you have to make a long drive down a very lonely road. IMO, the only way to avoid that is to stay the night there...
