At a guess I'd say it's been heavily cropped - the levels pushed hard in PP - and not sharpened optimally (if at all).

Didn't really intend to have a C&C on the image

But just for the record. here is the JPEG (!) out of the camera (except saved smaller):

Very little levels adjustment in PP, other than what Mr. Canon does to create the JPEG
I only wanted to sharpen enough for the head, bill and nest building material - motion blur in the feathers was fine by me - but I'm sure I could have done it better!
