No doubt there are a few plane spotters out there on Cambridge in Colour. How about starting up an aviation thread - anything mechanical in the air...

I've got quite a busy international airport nearby, and can park quite close to the apron. The vast majority of aircraft arriving or departing are Emirates Airlines, but there are a few Russian aircraft from the 'Stans and lesser known international airlines and liveries that arrive out of the prime slots.

We watched the rugby game against South Africa and New Zealand (in which New Zealand gave South Africa a rugby lesson, I might add!) at a pub at a local, small airport (Rand Airport) last Saturday. I was able to get a few shots.

Understandable, standing on full rudder at around 25ft!

And a rather more sedate display team - a journo who must have been within 10 feet of me took the same shot with the same timing, which was in the papers the next day

Great shots Phil! I found a place along the beach in Mississippi where the planes are coming in low enough to get good shots of them. I will have to go back after the "Cruisin the Coast" event so my mind will be focused on planes.

Cor; I flew an airplane once, didn't stand on the rudder though but did a few spins, dives and pulled 5g which is nothing for those blokes women, and I been in one in full aerobatic manouvres being flown by a proper pilot. In the army, can you believe that.
Actually a carrot top took me up and then landed cross the path of three Phantoms on take off causing them to jump over the top which caused him great amusement and convinced me they are crazy people.

Then he saluted me on the way out and got me picked on by a Flight Sergeant.

Making me feel queezy. Two things I hate; looking down the wing in a 90 degree bank or looking down the side of an open to the elements plane. Is that London?

Top shop stuff Mike; I used to know a chap who flew these in Egypt just after the big one. From an era when ordinary people got to fly; he was a welder by trade.

Didn't half get on your nerves with constant stories though.
