Portrait of a damsel
Decided to do a portrait of this fly. This has a unique metallic color. Would love to hear any comments or critique on the composition, pp or any areas which you think I could improve on this picture.
Thank you

Alienish shot. I like the head-on particularly the way the eyes have turned out. The highlights at the front are a bit distracting and drawing attention away from the eyes.

Re: Portrait of a damsel
First, I love the colors, and the hexagonal shapes/detail of the eye? ...but I notice it gets very soft on the edges. I wish it wasn't so close- would like a bit more dept of field. I think the straight on shot is a bit boring and maybe a different composition would be better.

It's so good it's creepy. I like the composition. Maybe a bit less saturation on the greens --they tend to multiply in the mind and it looks (to me anyway) like there is way too much green. They eyes are fantastic!

Now that's close!
Very tricky target with all that reflective green everywhere. As Bobo said if you could tone down the highlights, it would be great.

Re: Portrait of a damsel
thanks for taking the time to comment on this photo.
Kristina, you read my mind. I was also thinking how approach it from a different close up perspective.
Gretchen, I did think if the green was too saturated, but this damsel is from the jungle and somehow their colors seem to bright and metallic in colour which was why I left it as they were.
Thanks again
