I took the following shots of String Lake in Grand Teton National Park as part of the planning for going back and getting them in better light. And although they are not what I was looking for I liked the feeling. Then I looked down at the shore line and there was a Ruffed Grouse. Couldn't resist getting a couple of shots of it as well.

Yes, all worked well. The subdued light and colour produce a good Autumn feel to the scene.

Chuck, nice photos. I especially enjoyed the grouse photos. Many years ago I used to chase these guys around a lot in northern Iowa. Great bird to hunt and eat.

I usually like a landscape orientation best on landscapes but in this case I think I like the portrait one better. Somehow it seems more dramatic and I think also the one mountain is not competing with the others for attention. It's entire reflection is in the water. Beautiful!
