Well, neither my days at work, or rainy days produced such lovely rewards. #3 too bad those two couldn't have been flying a little closer together that leader looks like he might bump his nose into the frame any second, but it is a very good shot of the wing spans and grace of their movement.

Thank you Connie, that is partly due to my crop; there were actually three cranes that caught me unaware. The original shot was way off center and low in the frame, so I cropped third bird and tried to do my best with composition. I'm going back out tomorrow at dawn to shoot some more. It really is quite impressive, there must be several thousand cranes that use this area as a staging ground. At dusk and dawn they all gather for the night, during the day they disperse in flocks of 50-100 birds to nearby fields.

Randy I like pic number 5 best something to do with the bands of color in background just really works for me.

I am with James on the last image. I also like the first two although they seem a bit soft.
