Coyote
I took these photos of a coyote in the field near our home this morning. We hear them "singing" nearly every night so it was good to see it during the day. The shot with the mallard flying by was fun. Hope you enjoy them. C&C welcome.

Re: Coyote
Those are nice. Question, what is the blue that is behind his nose in the second one?

Re: Coyote
The blue is the wing of the mallard that was flying by. Take a close look and you can see the entire bird.

Re: Coyote
Nice images Chuck, healthy looking Coyote. I have been told they are in Florida but I have not seen any yet. I did see a couple in New Hampshire when I lived there. A documentary I recently watched about a woman who was killed by them on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia said the eastern ones had become bigger by mixed breeding with Wolves.

Re: Coyote
Great shots, Here we hear them more than see them, very hard to photograph. I like 1 better for lack of duck.

Re: Coyote
Nice image Chuck. Rare to see them in the day here. I did get to watch one catch a few moles not long ago, even got some shots but they were just to far off. I would love to have gotten some this nice.

Re: Coyote
Thanks to all of you for your comments. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to photograph these critters at relatively close range. I am not afraid of coyotes, and sense the reintroduction of wolves to our valley the coyote population has been drastically reduced. Consequently the reproductive success of Pronghorns has increased. The interactions of organisms in the ecosystem are fascinating to observe.
James, I agree that the lack of the duck is a good thing, but it made me smile when I saw the photo.
I am attaching two additional photos of the coyote. I hope you enjoy. BTY, I saw it at close range a number of times after I took these photos.
Cheers, Chuck

Re: Coyote
Wonderful, sharp photos! We rarely see these in the day either and when we do they are VERY skiddish so I've never been afraid either. I'd love to have the chance to photograph one.
I really love the one looking over his shoulder.

Terri, Miltos, John and James. Thank you for the nice comments. These little guys are around our house a lot but it is difficult to get close to them.
