Excellent! love the DOF, all the reflective surfaces work well with the contrasty processing, composed well with the central subject and that wide angle perspective making the pot in the foreground seem huge..... it all works amazingly well, well done!
Phil, nice capture.

Always!!!!!
Excellent job as always. I am drawn to his eyes and from there wander throughout the interesting image. He is looking at you and must have excellent hand-eye coordination to be hitting the cup while looking somewhere else!
Thanks guys
f4 was the best I could manage really, as it was quite dimly lit and I wanted a fast shutter at 1/100th. ISO was climbing to 2800
This guy is one of the characters in the local market and he literally pours hundreds of cups of tea for delivery to the store keepers outside. So he's got plenty of practice at pouring the milk and tea simultaneously, pouring from a height to froth up the tea. Unfortunately I could get to any different areas of the restaurant to photograph him, so it was just a quick 3 shot grab while I was in there picking up a water.
Another fantastic image Phil. I'm looking foward to seeing more. I'll have to try to make a cup of tea like this. But probably end up with a giant mess and a trip to the hospital.
The beauty of Auto ISO on a high ISO capable camera, Theresa!
I had it set on a minimum shutter speed of 1/100th, which is generally good enough to freeze motion on slow moving human traffic. It was then just a case of dialing in f4 and manual focusing.
Pointless having the technology if you don't use it, and for street type photography you learn not to blink or you'll miss it, and to react quite fast.
Thanks Jason - next time I'm shooting I'll be a little less subtle. My D700 on a black rapid, plus a D600 over the other shoulder and a D800 around my neck - should be fun testing and reviewing the 600 and 800 for a magazine.
Fabulous Phil ... very well done
Anne
