hi Jordan,
#1 thers nothing here that makes me want to take a second look, its a little soft (yes i know its misty) there also seems to be some sort of ghosting or artifacing on the left side, is that the right word?
#2 much better, i like it, its nice and sharp, the road leads the eye, the saturation is good. i might have shot from a lower perspective to emphasis the road and included just a little less sky, but thats just nit picking...
Jordan I like them both.
For the second one I'd suggest some more selective sharpening on the road.
Thanks for your comments, Mark!
#1 has been processed from a single RAW file, so I don't think we have ghosting in this case. It might be the sunlight coming through the fog from the upper right side.
In #2 I tried a lower perspective but then I lose the small bridge in the middle of the road and actually get more sky.
I like #1, but I would crop some of the top.
I like both images Jordan. I didn't have an issue with the sky in the tree picture, but I would not have put in as close to the centre of the image, offset closer to one of the thirds (probably the right third) would have been stronger compositionally. I don't like the black line in your border. While I do like borders, they should help define the image, but I find the black line distracting, as my eyes keep darting over to it, rather than at the image contents.
I like the second picture the way it is. The background is nice and soft. I would not sharpen the road as I think that would look strange with the rest of the image
Hi, Jordan;
I like both photos quite a bit. My only criticism is that in the road photo, just above the point where the road first takes a dip, at the top of the tree to the right of the group on the left, there is a spot of some type that needs to be removed.
Well done Jordan, I like both and echo Manfreds thoughts.
