Nice shot of the monument, Don. I initially was intrigued by the sky in the RU corner, but it competes a bit with the monument, and on full size viewing appears a bit posterized. It may be a stronger image with the sky cropped/cloned out. May be worth experimenting with.

This is a nice shot of the fountain. This Memorial was not there the last time I was in D.C. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Don, it looks like you took the shot at about 2.30 pm. Or maybe 6.30 pm. So, out of curiosity, why have you blacked everything out? There's a nice edifice in the background, just right of the further fountain that, I think, adds to the image! Why this interpretation?

This shot was taken after the sun went down. The instructor had us experiment with White Balance and shooting on Manual setting to get the effects. This was a night shoot of the Washington DC memorials.
