Only a crop to change the picture format - no great shakes
Great looking portrait - as usual! It's always a pleasure to view your excellent work!
Hi Phil,
I like the composition, but to be honest, I think the high-frequency sharpening is a little too aggressive; on the larger version of the image the texture of the skin especially around the forehead area is looking a bit too crunchy to my eye.
I just checked the camera - the loaner was set to Vivid .jpg, with sharpening of 4 (out of 9) on the menu.
I've since switched to my preferred Standard picture control setting, with no in camera sharpening.
Thinking about it, I know the reason it's too sharp - I normally process from RAW with my default Lightroom sharpness settings. Here I'm processing an already sharpened image in the same way. It'll will be interesting to see how the images come out with my normal processing through an unsharpened .jpg SOOC file.
Sharpening or not, 24 or 36MP ain't a resolution for the oldies/wrinklies!
