Harry - When you say 'this year', does that mean that these are all temporary sculptures that are removed, with another lot put in place next year? Interesting.

Exactly Donald, runs for about 3 or 4 weeks, they are placed over about a 3-4km stretch of coastline, various so called artists do their thing, some of them aren't really that appealing, I have only posted a small selection

Very nice, I've seen some nice sand sculpture in my travels also.

very nice photo's, we have here in Adelaide something like this too, every year for about 4 weeks , along the Brighton beach, but of course nothing so grand like Sydney, here is one from February this year.......

Hi Harry,

It must have been late in the afternoon, nice soft light.

I went last Friday in the early afternoon and aside from the shadows being shorter the colours were much more saturated in my pics and of course clipped highlights. I will post some of mine when I get home. I am currently down in Jindabyne trying to photograph the thaw.

Yeh mate we didnt start until about 5pm, wanted to avoid mass crowds,turned out quite nice after a dull morning,i should have used my CPL filter
