Goodness me. I was just a bit across country trying to do the same thing. I was at Buchanty Spout, near Glenalmond. The result of my efforts are here.

Like I said in my thread ..... it's hard. Very, very hard.

Like your images Donald. I only had the 17 to 200 mm with me. The point of leaping was too great for the lens @ 200mm.

The 400mm was down south. Why oh Why did I take it out off the campervan.. Still theres always next year ...

They do.

I went up the day after I got the images that I put in the thread that I linked to above ........ and they had all gone. The pool just below the white water was empty.

Well done Victor and Donald cracking shots,I tried this a few weeks back at Gartness near Drymen Scotland,after viewing yours I have a better idea about camera settings for next attempt,hope you don,t mind me posting my attempt again...I was quite chuffed with it .....

Bernard, it's a wonderful action shot. I'll be trying for some salmon shots on a nearby stream in the next week or so but the stream is relatively placid so there'll be no shots of airborn fish

Thanks for all your comments. The Salmon leaping were a bonus .. I was there to take in some autumn scenes... Must go back next year .. with my 400 lens.

And Yes they do make it up against tonnes of water cascading against them.
