I agree, and I hope I did not bothered anyone too much with this. I do both video and still... hobby wise.
recently more video. And interestingly 80% of the video DSLR community has the discussed topic completely twisted and wrong ( because they they see the 5Dmark2 as the base)! So Thanks again for the patience :)

I'm somewhat the same and shoot both stills and video, but use dedicated cameras for both. I've looked at shooting video on both of my DSLRs and find them rather limited. I think they would be fine in a pinch, but they are awkward to use and don't do sound particularly well, have no peaking for focus, etc. One of these days I'm going to try the D800 as a "B" camera to augment the Panasonic.
