Re: Decay
Very interesting , Bobo. I particularly like #3- great complementary color and very well suited for a "grunge" processing. Minor point only, that the highlights on the front of the lower post perhaps could be toned down a mite.
Well done and quite creative

Re: Decay
You could name #2 "Broken X Factor." That and the third one are quite nice.
The first one cries out for using a polarizer filter to eliminate or minimize the glare on the leaves. Even so, considering that the subject is the pair of leaves, I don't think it adequately conveys the theme of decay. Try toning down the bright, saturated leaves in the background that distract from the forward pair of leaves and the rusty metal.

Re: Decay
Thanks Mike.
LOL. You described the scene as it was before the shot was taken. I had to use a LED flashlight to lighten up the left/mid back area to convey light coming in through the rusting window. haha.
For that shot it was handheld and very troublesome to use effectively. So came up with this DIY rig which has been quite handy especially where there is thick vegetation blocking the light.

Re: Decay
I would never have known that the first one is a window. I thought sure that it is a gate.

Re: Decay
I sometimes come across these small abandoned structures on my "hunts" and always peek around hoping to find some gems.

Re: Decay
I like these photo's, also the idea / theme.......
Regarding a leadlight, I have one from Manfretto, which can be fixed onto the hot shoe on any camera, if you are interested, I can download a photo........

Re: Decay
Thanks Griddi.
I know about the Manfrotto but prefer but prefer the flashlight for several reasons. Can be used as a standalone flash, has variable light intensity levels, a blink mode for use as an emergency/location beacon, more importantly at 500 lumens it is close or at normal daylight intensity so can be used for fill or direct light for photography without an obvious flashed or artificial light type shot.

Re: Decay
Great images Bobo, particularly now #3 is toned down. I love them all but agree with Mike that if the leaves in the background of #1 could be toned down this would be a stunner. Really like the textures you have captured.
