Early morning in southern Utah

While traveling through southern Utah on the way to Moab, we came across this mountain in the early morning light and I had to stop and capture this scene. Hope you like it.

I like it as well Don. I like the detail in the rock. I am curious, was there something off to the left that you did not want in the image. Seems to me I would have liked the peak further to the right third thus including more of that interesting looking sky coming in from the left? Still..... a nice image.

I just love glorious light with dark clouds in the background. You captured and post-processed this very well.

The composition works perfectly for me. The shape of the land and the large tree on the right prevent the centered subject from being static.

I'd just add to what is said about this being a very good image. A classic case of being in the right place at the right time. I'm sure there are other lights in which this would look good, but, obviously, not like this. It's also the fact that you got that sky behind it. It all just works really, really well.
