putting the past behind us
Hi all
this photo was taken this morning while driving in a township in South Africa. Only after taking the photo I realized how important it is to put the past behind us and focus in providing decent housing for the poor.
CIC welcome
have a good weekend
Regards
Ryan

Re: putting the past behind us
The sentiment of this picture resonates strongly with me, not least because I work with that aim professionally (see www.bpod.biz, if plugging one's business is allowed here).
As a picture I think it would have worked better if the background (i.e. the forward view around the mirror) had shown something of the kind of decent, affordable housing the future ought to hold for these people. But I know that would't have been easy to pull off, because it mostly ain't built yet.
Also, I'm not sure I would have sepia toned the view of what we want to leave behind. To me that makes it too benign, too romantic. I think a neutral grey would have shown more clearly the harsh hopelessness of shanty towns.
But well done for tackling this difficult subject.
