Perfectly timed in terms of the position of the sun relative to the pier. Brilliant idea to go with the longer length to get that big sun.
Do you think the people and the pier maybe look a little soft? A bit of selective sharpening on them, maybe?

Great timing and exposure.
I agree with Donald, this is a lot softer than it ought to be.
You must avoid sharpening the foreground water though, or it'll zing and distract, so it must be selective as Donald advises.
It would also benefit from a very slight anti-clockwise rotation (probably around 1/2 degree), both sea and pier are running 'downhill' to the right.
I don't understand the thread title though
