Beautiful plant. The lower round bit look like women's hair made up into a bun style. Very nice.
How about just concentrating on those wonderful pre-opening shapes for some shots?
Hi Bobo. Thanks for comment and posting a useful follow-up suggestion

I had a summer red in my garden (before moving to North Queensland) and just loved it! I really like that you've got all stages of "unfurling" in this cluster from cap still on, decapped but tight, loose and unravelling and fully open. I'm just wondering if it may benefit from a little more selective sharpening.
Looks like fireworks..have fun in PP!
Hi Ken,
Nice shot. How did you get close enough, and no bees? I have taken to using a 300mm lens but don't get the results you have.
Ours has finished flowering, we are nearly finished cleaning the stamens of the cars' paint work and windscreen.
We also have the full sized E Eximia, but it is full of borer and not long for this world.
