In addition to the two masks we picked up in Florence, my older daughter was in Italy last year and picked up a more traditional Venetian carnival mask. The model (i.e. younger daughter) thought that she did not look evil enough, so I did a bit of PP work to give the image a bit more of an edgy look.
This is the reworked shot:

Reworked shot does it for me. I think it's the complimentary skintones (to the mask) around the eyes that sets it off.

Your daughter was right that she didn't look evil enough in the original version and your response with the revised version complies perfectly with her request. A really wonderful image.
I'm curious about what gave you the idea to make her eye red. It works perfectly and I'm very confident that I would not have thought of such a great idea.
Now the question: are you concerned that your daughter is asking you to make her look more evil?

Mike - I showed my daughter your question and the answer was "everyone knows red eyes are evil" . I guess you and I are too old to know that.
Reason for the evil image - she wanted a new picture for her Facebook image.
