    Re: fall colour

Lovely picture with lovely colors. The only slight problem is that the pier seems to lead my eye away from the other part of the image which is the rushes, water and mist...

    Thanks Richard,

I felt almost the same, but a bit unsure if I am right or my "paranoia". Thanks for your comment.

A much better composition IMHO Leo. The eye is led into the image, giving a starting place to explore.

Yes the 2nd is certainly much better. Well done to take shots from different perspectives.

    Thanks Bobo,

I thing that I have learned is to "work the picture". Most of times, I have 100+ images from that subject (if it is a static one).
Also, this is WHY I LOVE C&C, you might be blind in some moments.

    Thanks to all comments,

    Good pictures Leo
    I prefer the 2nd too,
in both the pictures I really like the details and the "mood" of the scene

A very nice atmosphere in those images.
Please, can you tell me what lake is this? I might want to go fishing there, as well. Thanks.

    Re: fall colour

leo, both are interesting images, I had some problems with the 1st one. It was with the dock's vertical posts those on the left hand side of the image. To my way of thinking the sun was in the upper right hand corner, early morning, so those post are getting way to much sun, and if the sun was that strong, what shadows there are are way to light (they should be much darker). Did you lighten up that area? I like the image, however that bright area keeps drawing my eyes to it and I believe that, it is not the main area that you what viewers to focus on.
Now for the second image, like the others agree with the great lead in with the dock, great mood with what looks like frost on those boards. If there was one thing I could improve on IMO is the colours in the trees across the lake. Maybe the addition of another layer with a mask and increasing the strenght of colours of orange and yellow, I believe that the addition of a little punch of those colours would really draw one's eyes down that dock and across the mist covered lake deep into the image. Those are just my thoughts.

    Cheers:

    Allan

Wow, I like the 2nd angle, but it has lost something of the first. Maybe the cool color of the marshes. I don't know. It's probably and example of how you can't communicate everything in a scene in one picture.

    Thanks Leand, Allan, Gretchen

For Leand: is one exit from highway betveen Sofia to Pleven, close to Blagoevgrad exit.

For Allan: yes, vas quite early morning, and was frost on those piers. Actually I didn't lighten the pier in the firs one, I darken a bit the pier on the secon one. Agree with you about colours on trees across lake, I will give a try. It was a very strange light, mainly because of mist, and some thin clouds. Thanks for your comments.

    Gretchen, agree with you.

    Thanks for your comments,
    Leo
