Frank, I wondered who would be the one to catch/mention that. I suppose I could move his head to this side of the wing. However I have never really liked to alter things in that way. Maybe I should start thinking differently but I am not quite there yet. I am sure I will have more opportunities.

I thought of moving the head to the other side of the leader's wing but it would likely throw out the second goose's right wing perspective.

Perhaps you won’t like this attempt then but I’ll delete it if you’d like. I much prefer to capture scenes like these without issues like this but stuff happens and you don’t always get what you hoped for. I can’t get out as often as I’d like and this is one way I can enjoy photography even if I end up doing it just for the fun of it then trashing the image because it isn’t what was actually there.

That's a very good job of moving that goose, frank. It does improve the image.

I absolutely agree....Frank very well done. And Frank, don't get me wrong, it is not so much as I have issue with doing things like this. I have friends that there final work is a #of scenes put together to make one extrodinay image. They are known for that and the images are beautiful. However in my bird and wildlife circles I am known for the faithful capture and many times of things that they have struggled to capture themselves. If I change things, I lose credibility. Should it matter? The $64,000 dollar question. I think it all depends on what you want from your image. I want a spectacular image but I want it from a spectacular capture.
I may someday relax this but for now....it will remain an ok image from a spectacular opportunity.

Thank you Steve and Paul. In looking back, I should have used Paul's third image and not the first one as the third one is much better.

No worries, I have worked on it some since then too. Figured out my sharpening issue and killed the slight green cast that Steve spotted. Just between us....I think he has some special glasses that allow him to spot these color casts that none of us can see.

This is my philosophy as well. In the digital age, I thought that I may have been the only stalwart. Now I know!

And i absolutely agree with you , paul. I don't mind cloning a small branch or small object in an image, but that is about as far as it goes. I pride myself in taking single exposure images and only use editing to enhance the image , not change it.

I can see you feel the same way. It's all about capturing it 'in camera' under great light. Doesn't get any better than that.

Start printing your images and you won't need special glasses. Those color casts will jump out at you in print, but hard to spot on the screen. (unless you know where to look)

I mixed and match paint color for 8 years and am fairly good at seeing true color, but Steve my friend you are deadly.
