    Distracted in Chicago --c&c always!

Was lucky enough to visit the Chicago Cultural Center tonite --with the largest Tiffany Glass Dome in the world. The dome, at one time, was light by natural light. That must have been beautiful. It was built in 1887 and has over 30K pieces of Tiffany Favrile glass in fish scale shapes. My Sony Cybershot tried real hard:

I had to take a picture of this bike rack. I did some PP to even out the street lighting--which was really yellow. I thought the design was very creative.

    Thanks for viewing.

I like both but the second would be more intriguing cloning the supports of the wheels.Thank you.

And it did very well. But maybe you played a part as well in producing two fine images. After all, the camera didn't compose the shots on its own.

Radu, wow. Thanks for taking the time to show me what you envisioned. Yes, I think it works!

Donald. you are too kind. As usual, I'd like a finer resolution, but to do so would require a better camera. Especially on the dome. The tiles that were on the walls were just stunning.

Gold Leaf, Mother-of-Pearl, colored stones and the Tiffany Favrile.

Even close-up, I can't get the detail I'd like. Maybe with such iridescent subjects it's just impossible --as the nature of the material is to distort the light and delight the visual cortex. I am totally enthralled by the interplay of light in this way. Butterfly wings are especially intriguing to me.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to visit a museum in Winter Park, Florida that houses the largest collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany work. I highly recommend it to anyone who visits the Orlando area. http://www.morsemuseum.org/

You have heard that saying right??? "It's the photographer!"

I really like the 2nd shot. Are those really bikes?? I can understand one wheel but no foot pedals or wheel spokes?

Bobo, I like both photo's, but the bike photo sort of do it for me, one do not see something like this every day.......

But I think they are not real bikes, perhaps just for decoration's, also how come they do not fall over ?

They are a sculpture. If you look at the wheels you will see they are pinned to the floor so they don't fall over.

They are "bike racks" for city bikers to chain their bikes to when shopping or at work. I thought they were very creative.

Better than the cows that they had everywhere a few years ago.
