You say very blue water spout....was this your intention to make it so blue? The water spout is fairly interesting. Depending on what you are going for you might try a couple different crops.
This is how it was, sharpened and a little contrast increase in lightroom. I am very interested in seeing it cropped correctly if you have the time. I have trouble cropping landscapes, learning curve I suppose... (This was taken off our ship in the phillipine sea, of an incoming storm.)
It is not so much "correctly" as much as you have options. Options that might make the waterspout more prominant. Here are but two. I did also sort out the color just a bit but again....this is all to taste and in that ours may differ and that is part of what is so great about photography.
And an original crop with a slight change of color yet again...
oooooooohhhhh! I really like this. I mean, I really like this.
Can I buy a copy?
I wouldn't lose anything if you cropped out that bright spot at the top. It doesn't bother me because I'm loving where the water meets the sky.
The drama and detail of the water in the foreground really sets the stage for such a magnificent backdrop. You could lose about 1/3rd of the top of the sky and put more emphasis on the waterspout.
Gads, this is gorgeous!! Neat job, denise
Wow, I love the first crop, and JPS' colors!
John's version (JPS) is pretty cool.
