Baby Swallow's
Just been trawling through some old photo's and found these two images I took a couple of years ago.
We have swallows that nest in our carport and I was lucky enough to be home when their chicks took their first flight.
Cute eh'

Very cute greg, they don't look so fast now. Man are the adults hard to photograph. Like taking a picture of a bullet in flight.

Thanks Steve. That would be an image to be proud of if you could capture a Swallow in flight. Not only are they lightning fast, they can turn on a match head.

That is brilliant and has just got to have commercial potential.

Re: Baby Swallow's
Great job on these Greg. That first one is my top pick but the second is pretty darn good as well.

Thanks Donald & Paul.
Very pleased that you think it is good enough for commercial potential Donald.
They are starting to nest again. Hope I'm in the right place, right time again.
Cheers, Greg

Re: Baby Swallow's
The first one BTW has a couple dust spots just to the right of the birds, one next to the bird and one straight up from there near the top. Without those...perfect.

Thanks Bobo & Paul.
Paul, you must have better eye sight than me. Thanks for pointing the spots out. Will fix

Re: Baby Swallow's
Had another edit of my original photo of the two chicks.
I adjusted shadows as I felt their heads were a bit dark and used some selective sharpening around their eyes and beaks, especially the left hand one.
An improvement or not ?
Before
After

Re: Baby Swallow's
Greg, great captures both, but I'm afraid it's No 2 for me. How about trying a crop and sharpen on this one too ?

Funny you should mention that Grahame. Just finished doing exactly that.
