Summer Photos
The weather's dull and drab. I upgraded the ram on my computer with disastrous results, which will take a couple of days to sort out. So - I've been going through some photographs that I took during the summer. Here's a couple. C&C always appreciated.

Re: Summer Photos
I like the first one both for its angle and contrast. Is the snail floating on water? If so, is that its natural behavior? What creates the double reflection?

Re: Summer Photos
Mike, I can answer your questions in one. It was an opportunistic shot, the snail was crawling up my window pane (double glazing gives the reflections).
Also, the sun was nice and bright, which gave an almost translucent appearance to this young snail and helped with the background colour, which is the reflection of my garden. Finally I cloned out all of the dust specks and marks on the glass. No other processing on the first one. On the second one I pasted in the shell ridge and closest eye, to give a better depth of field, as the original was blurred.
Thanks for looking and commenting.

Re: Summer Photos
I like them very much Clive.
I'd suggest you increase the contrast a bit. The composition is very nice but I think some space on the left and bottom would improve it.

Re: Summer Photos
I like the effect you got. It takes a good eye to see the possibilities that snails offer and took it well.
While the first shot was opening up my first reaction was Wow!

Re: Summer Photos
That's a real compliment Bobo. Don't give me too much credit though - I hadn't noticed the reflections before, they were a pleasant surprise when I opened the file on the computer.
thanks
Clive
