Afterall it is Death Valley
Have been in Death Valley for a couple of days now, and there has been some really moody early dawn light as a system is coming in bring more cloud cover. The sun had just poped oner the mountains and lite the far mountain tops, sky and clouds howeverdown in valley was still in that blue predawn light. I worked the colour sliders in ACR, threw in a contrast and a levels layer. It is a little other worldly, but then again it is Death Valley as seen from Dante's View.
Cheers:

Interesting view. The deep blue on the right works well against the mountains and sky. Would it have been possible to carry a slightly darker tone over into the lower left to reduce the glare of the, I presume, salt flats? The white is just a bit too overwhelming and featureless to occupy that much space in the image.
Consider cloning out the contrail in the sky if possible. It is a great wild nature shot and the intrusion of a human artifact reduces the impact.

The bit that I'm not so keen on is that rock encroaching in at the bottom right and I wonder about trying make a crop that gets rid of it, work. Just an idea.
Otherwise, I think it's a ratehr mystical and very good abstract image. I know it's a real scene, but is so surreal for many of us that it take son abstract qualities.

I'm predisposed to not liking the colors you used because some of them are so similar to slide film that has changed color due to improper storage. I realize that that's not fair to your artistic endeavor, but I can't make myself get away from thinking that it's an aged slide.
