Frost in winter
I love the way frost in winter makes everything look magical. I like the dreamy look I've given I but I always worry about post processing...too much? I welcome any and all advice. Please pass along C & C tobhelp me improve. Thx

Re: Frost in winter
I really like this photo Cindy. Very nicely composed. I quite like the processing you have done as well. It gives it the feeling that it was painted rather than taken with a camera.

Re: Frost in winter
Very nice subject and composition, cindy. The only thing i see is the focus on the tree stocks. Not shure what your focal point was? Really like the image though. Well done!!!

+1 to both above. I like the mood/feel quite a bit and honestly I usually like less PP....but....in this image I believe it fits very well.

Re: Frost in winter
I like this one too. The only change I would make is to bump up the exposure. For snow shots, I try to push the histogram just below clipping (or even just the slightest bit of clipping) to show the brightness of the scene. That or I'd pull back that vignetting a bit. My eyes want a scene like this to be extra bright, and I'm just not getting that.
Everything else here is fantastic though, and I'd gladly freeze my butt off for a couple hours to get to see and capture something like that.

Re: Frost in winter
Thanks, everyone, for the comments and advice. @Steve, the original exposure has sharp focus on the tree stocks. It was still very foggy when I was shooting. Fog didn't burn off until well after noon. So in post processing I pushed the fog effect and I believe that's where I'm getting the soft focus overall. @ktuli, I do have some that are much brighter that day but this was early morning. I saw the weather hasdus down for fog ice which means a good covering of hoar frost. Usually the sun will come out and you can get a beautiful brighter exposure. I see what you mean and I'll try it with the vignetting pulled back a bit. I really appreciate everyone's input. Thanks again.

Re: Frost in winter
Nice shot Cindy. Great composition, and I love the PP - the soft focus works, and the blue toning just makes it look "colder." Well done.
