Just announced Canon iP7220 inkjet may be 6 color CLI-8 based (or not?)
On Canon's USA support website, the "Specifications" page indicates the just announced iP7220 inkjet printer uses six CLI-8 dye cartridges (Cyan, PhotoCyan, Magenta, PhotoMagenta, Yellow, and Black).

The "Supplies and Accessories" page indicates it uses CLI-251 dye cartridges and PGI-250 pigment black.

I'd be (Very Pleasantly) surprised if the iP7220 uses CLI-8 cartridges.
Anyone got specs on the CLI-251 cartridges
* clear or opaque or partially opaque?
* capacity of Standard Size?
* capacity of XL (extra large) size?

e-mail them. I have found that they usually respond to queries quite quickly.

I've also found that Canon support is pretty responsive and generally very helpful.
Actually, I did check with Canon support shortly after the OP ... to clarify for myself, and then to suggest they bring the problem to the attention of whoever does their webmaster duties.
Their reply did confirm that the iP7220 will use CLI-251. (drat ... I was hoping for the larger capacity and transparent CLI-8).
And I just checked, and the Specs webpage has the correct info about the printer using CLI-251 cartridges.
