Lightning Shots
It's lightning season again in Darwin, Australia and the storm chasers are happy as Larry. Once again we can stand around our tripods and discuss techniques with the odd interruption of a crack of lightning. Darwin airport recorded 2600 strikes on Friday night alone (reassuring isn't it). I mad the mistake of not checking my ISO before taking the first picture and had it washed out a bit but managed to recover it in PP. C&C welcome.
1.) F: 22, one minute exposure, 500 ISO
2.) F: 20, about 3 minutes, 100 ISO
3.) F: 20, about 4 minutes, !)) ISO

Fantastic.
The second one is my favorite as you can see both ends.
Well done!

Re: Lightning Shots
Love the first one, especially the way it lights up the cove. What an amazing experience, glad you got to have it.

Re: Lightning Shots
Just to add my 'Wows' to all those that have gone before.
We very rarely get any lightning up here and when we do it tends to be in the form of sheet lighting rather than this forked lightning.

Great shots. Something I would love to try some night but we don't have a "lightning Season"...thank goodness.

Re: Lightning Shots
I really like the second one as well... though I'd be tempted to get rid of the red light on the horizon. The reflection in the first one is pretty awesome too, but like others have mentioned, I do wish I could see the top of the lightning bolt.
Beautiful work!
