    Bateleur

We were sat by a small amount of water waiting to see what game would come to drink. After a few hours no animals had shown and we were about to leave when a Bateleur and Whiteheaded Vulture were seen circling above. These two were soon joined by several more Bateleur Eagles and Whitebacked Vultures.

In our campsite the Yellowbilled Hornbill was a common visitor but they wouldn't stay still for a second. This one caught me by surprise as he landed right next to me.

Sometimes it pays to be patient. Some interesting birds which I enjoy viewing due to that patients. I really like the close up profile and am sure had he given you a little more warning you would have adjusted for a bit mor DOF, having said that I still think it is a great image.

    Me too.

I think that first one is nature photography of publication standard.

Hi Paul, it does pay to be patient but there is always something to take one by surprise and thank you.

Hi Bobo, many thanks for the comments.

Hi Donald, thank you for the positive comment.

Unfortunately a project at work has really interfered with my getting out and about, but I'm off to the bush again over the Christmas period.
